VS Code / Copilot Chat
connects locally.

Add Agent Decision Kit to VS Code and Copilot Chat with the correct servers schema, then verify the local MCP connection.

01 / Build once

Prepare the source checkout

npm install
npm run build

Keep the absolute checkout path ready. The published npm package is not available yet; when it ships, this setup will be shorter.

02 / Add the server

.vscode/mcp.json

Open the MCP config file and choose Start, or run MCP: List Servers from the Command Palette.

VS Code forwards its configured servers to Agent Host sessions where supported. Keep the MCP server scoped to the workspace if it should not be exposed in all projects.

Configuration option

Source-checkout server entry

{
  "servers": {
    "agent-decision-kit": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "node",
      "args": [
        "/absolute/path/to/agent-decision-kit/dist/cli.js",
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}

03 / Verify

Check the connection

Use MCP: List Servers, start Agent Decision Kit, and select Agent mode in Copilot Chat before trying its tools.

04 / Try a real workflow

Start with sample data

Use code_navigate to find the browser manager, then call diff_risk_review on a sample diff. Explain the limits of both results.
